There were some jaw-dropping looks on the 77th Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday night. Here are the most outstanding of the evening.
#1-Sarah Snook In Christian Siriano
This was my favorite look of the night. This voluminous, black textured Siriano ball gown cascaded in a waterfall effect and featured floral and geometric embellishments over shimmering fabric. The cinched waist, and strapless sweetheart neckline gave me all the Dior “New look” vibes. Sarah may not be a huge household name yet but she oozed star quality in this look.
#2-Kerry Washington In Altuzarra
This sizzling black ensemble comes from Altuzarra’s Pre-Fall collection. Kerry combined this satin, thigh-high slit pencil skirt and open-front triacetate blazer with a statement snake like triple knot bejeweled body harness and a whole lot of top stick. This risk taking look paid off. It not only photographed amazingly but was one of the most talked about looks of the night.
#3-Sandra Bullock In Custom Oscar De La Renta
This custom Oscar De La Renta marigold ochre-silk, moire faille gown was outstanding. The cascading ruffles created a high-low effect which flowed into dramatic train. This was paired with chunky gold chain necklaces from Pomellato, slinky gold heels and a textured lob which combined for a youthful and glamorous look.
#4-Cynthia Erivo In Custom Thom Browne
This stunning Tom Browne look took 800 hours of hand beading to create and personifies haute couture. The black and white gown features an off the shoulder notched lapel leading to a front closure. Pearls, round jet- black sequins, bugle beads and seed beads create breathtaking texture. Peonies in black embellish both the outside and inside white silk-satin lining of the gown. Erivo mentioned on the red carpet that these are her favorite flowers. This was paired with a $3 million dollar necklace from Bvlgari.
#5-Jason Momoa In Tom Ford And Valentino
I fell in love with this outfit which was breath of fresh air from the many other boring menswear looks worn at the award show. Jason Momoa rocked a lush, deep green velvet Tom Ford Jacket featuring a satin shawl lapel, besom pockets and satin cuffs with a single button closure. This was paired with Valentino pants with a basic black tank and some super sexy jewelry which included a triangle jade necklace and a Cartier brooch and watch.
#6-Zoey Deutch In Fendi Couture
This Fendi Couture look was bishop sleeve heaven. The vibrant golden-yellow, structured, deep v neck jumpsuit was draped to perfection. This was paired with stunning jewelry pieces which featured a demure 60 carats of Sapphire and 23 carats of diamonds, designed by Harry Winston.
#7-Joey King In Iris Van Herpen
This was by far the most unique look of the night and I am obsessed with it. This dress comes from the Iris Van Herpen “Hypnosis” collection. This Dutch designer creates incredible avant-garde looks which seem more like living works of art than fashion. Joey’s slicked back hair and simple white shoes helped made the dress the focal point of this perfectly styled look.
#8-Kaitlyn Dever In Valentino
I love a romantic gown with a puffed sleeve. This exquisite Valentino features a jewel neckline with endless embroidered white, pink and red flowers. There are two hidden slit pockets on both sides as well as scattered Swarovski’s to give the dress shimmer.
#9-Renée Zellweger In Armani
Renée Zellweger took home her 4th Golden Globe Award in this simple yet stunning Armani gown. I loved the bluish purple hue of this gown as well as the elegant rounded neckline which was edged in crystals that jetted down the bodice to the dramatic thigh high slit. It doesn’t get much more classic and elegant than this look.
#10-Awkwafina In Dior
I absolutely loved this chic black and white Dior ensemble. The elegant skirt paired with a princess sleeved tuxedo jacket and textured Victorian ruffled collar gave Awkwafina one of her first outstanding high fashion moments on the red carpet.
